Early Engagement Group

Session Structure (3 hours)

Our Early Engagement Group is a small group program designed to support young children’s development in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment. It’s ideal for children aged 2–5 years who may benefit from extra support with communication, social interaction, play, and daily routines. This program draws inspiration from evidence-based early intervention approaches and uses a play-based, child-led model to support each child’s individual strengths and goals.

Who Is It For?

  • Children who are waiting for or currently receiving NDIS early intervention supports
  • Families looking for a gentle, play-based alternative to mainstream settings
  • Children who benefit from structured routines, visual supports, and sensory-friendly environments
  • Children who may not be ready for a full ACE Programme enrolment

Key Features

  • Small group size for individual attention.
  • Led by experienced educators, therapy assistants and therapists (e.g., occupational therapists, speech pathologists, early childhood educators)
  • Focus on strengths-based and neuro-affirming practices
  • Goals developed in collaboration with families
  • Flexible entry points throughout the year

Morning Tea & Mealtimes
Children are supported to build independence and routines around eating and self-care. We encourage communication, turn-taking, and trying new foods in a relaxed, social setting.

Group Time
Children come together for songs, stories, movement, and shared play experiences. Group time helps build attention, listening, and early social skills in a safe, supportive way.

Sensory Motor Programme
A structured part of the day includes activities that support regulation, body awareness, and motor planning. This might include obstacle courses, movement games, or sensory play to help children feel calm, focused, and ready to learn.

Play-Based Learning
Children engage in individualised learning through play, supported by trained educators and therapists. This is where we focus on building communication, play, interaction, and everyday functional skills through your child’s interests.

with the intention of equipping children with the skills needed for the ACE Programme.

School Readiness Groups

Our School Readiness Group is designed for children who may benefit from extra support as they prepare to start school. This small group program focuses on building the foundational skills needed for a confident and successful transition to a classroom environment.

Through a mix of play-based learning, group routines, and individualised support, children develop:

  • Confidence separating from caregivers
  • Communication and listening skills
  • Following group instructions and transitions
  • Social interaction and turn-taking
  • Emotional regulation and sensory supports
  • Fine motor and pre-academic skills

Each session is structured with predictable routines and visual supports, and led by experienced educators and therapists who understand diverse learning styles.

This group is ideal for children who thrive with extra time, gentle guidance, and a supportive environment to practise school routines at their own pace.
