Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a person-centred approach used to understand and improve challenging behaviours. It aims to enhance quality of life for the individual by focusing on prevention, teaching new skills, and modifying environments, rather than using punishment or control.
At Ashtons Place our Positive Behaviour Support team recognises and understands that all behaviour has a function. Each child undergoes a detailed assessment process, that ensures all support recommendations, tools and strategies are individualised according to each individual’s developmental profile.
An effective behaviour plan looks at the individual and all of their supports. Our therapists will walk you step by step through the process of developing a Positive Behaviour Support Plan.
